A NEW YEAR'S GREETING

Dear Friends:

As we reflect on the year past and look forward to a joyous New Year, I send this greeting to share some of Ohio State's good news and true gems with you.

One of my favorite places is the 11th floor Campus Reading Room of the Thompson Library, where I have a bird's eye view of the Oval and the new Ohio Union to the east, and the stadium and the broader horizon to the west. From this perch, I am reminded that the sky is the limit for our students, our university, and the 11 million Ohioans—and countless others—we serve.

Each and every day, in all I see, it is clear to me that this university is leading a scarlet-and-gray renaissance. Our talented faculty and students achieve new intellectual and artistic heights. University staff members create vibrant solutions to meet pressing challenges. Our alumni use their educational grounding, along with their time and treasure, to play a vital role in the lives of others, not only on campus, but also throughout the nation and around the world. Together, we are accelerating work to strengthen our economy, discover new knowledge, establish robust partnerships, and enrich the human experience through the arts and culture. As one, we are fulfilling our land-grant mission to improve lives and enhance communities.
