Thank to you all that attended! We had a wonderful showing and all the incoming students had a great time meeting and getting to know each other! It's great to know they will have some familiar faces on campus from their home state of New Jersey!
Incoming OSU Freshman Send-off Picnic
We are inviting all incoming freshman, their parents and OSU alumni to a picnic to help send off the students with their first dose of Buckeye Pride!
When: Sunday, August 29th, 2010 12-4pm
Where: Johnson Park, Piscataway NJ
Why you should come:
- Welcome our new Freshman
- Meet with old friends
- Share stories of OSU with old and new Buckeyes
- Discuss the Buckeyes upcoming game vs. Marshall the following week.
- It’s free!
What you should bring:
- Your love of OSU
- A mitt and/or bat for softball
- Readiness to have a good time
Who will be there:
- Our new Freshman
- Club Officers and other Members
- OSU Alumni
- TBDBITL- well we couldn’t fly the whole band out, but they will be there on CD. What good tailgate doesn’t have the band?
How to get there: Directions are posted at the bottom of this message.
Please let us know your attending no later than Wednesday August 25th, 2010. This will help us plan the menu and be sure there is enough for everyone.
Finally, please do not bring alcohol. The park forbids it.

Directions to Johnson Park
From Route 287
- Take Exit 9 (Highland Park)
- Follow River Rd. toward Highland park (2 miles)
- After Johnson Dr., the park begins on your right
- Park runs parallel to River Rd.
From Route 1
- Take exit for Route 18 North
- Take Exit for Highland Park/Route 27 North
- Make left at traffic light onto River Road
- Park begins on the left at 1st traffic light (Cedar Lane)
- Park runs parallel to River Road
From Garden State Parkway
- Take Exit 129 (NJ Turnpike)
- Take NJ Turnpike South
- Follow directions for NJ Turnpike
From NJ Turnpike
- Take Exit 9 (New Brunswick)
- Take Rt. 18 North
- Take Exit for Highland Park/Route 27 North
- Make left at traffic light onto River Road
- Park begins on the left at 1st traffic light (Cedar Lane)
- Park runs parallel to River Road
NOTE Rt. 18 now splits into express and local lanes when coming from RT. 1/Turnpike. Be sure you are all the way over to the right to get in the local lanes, so you can exit properly. If you miss the local lanes, continue on RT. 18 to the River Rd. exit and make a left at the bottom of the ramp. Johnson Park will be on your right side. Enter at the Johnson Dr. entrance.
